Autumn is for many small towns all over Trentino-Alto Adige the time for a very peculiar and interesting event, called “ALMABTRIEB”: The return of the livestock from the higher alpine pastures.

Sounds of cowbells, cows ornated with garlands parading down the streets, following the “queen” (the cow which produced the most milk), and a celebration downhill with music and tasting of dairy products.
