On the first Sunday of October, the smell of fresh bread invades the streets of Bressanone. In the Piazza Duomo bakers bake loafs and different kinds of bread: With walnuts, sesam, sunflower seeds or fennel seeds, with rye flour or apples, pears and plums. And they also bake strudel, the traditional wrapped cake with a filling of apples, cinnamon, raisins and nuts.
