Forte Castle
Description
The manor was first mentioned in 1173.
Forte Castle is one of the best-known of all castles, not least because of its privileged position along the major Brenner artery. The ancient paved road climbs steeply up to the manor bristling with towers, bastions, and ramparts, starting from the square in Ponte Gardena.
Inside, there are several steps connecting the different rooms, among which is the oldest Gothic parlour (Stube) in South Tyrol.
The Castle can be visited from Easter to the end of October with in-house guides.
